So finally I'm able to start a new post! I've been in New York since August but things have been so hectic lately that I haven't been able to post anything. Before I post pictures of works I've done in my foundation classes here at SVA, I really wanted to post the pictures of the Musashino Art Exhibit I finally received from my professor. At my last college, I was given a unique opportunity to take part in a studio class where students would prepare works to submit to an art exhibit located at one of the most leading art schools in Japan, the Musashino Art University. I was given the chance to display three of my works there. Unfortunately I wasn't able to attend the exhibition but just being able to participate in this experience was amazing! Here are the pictures:

So I really suck at this whole blogging thing >_< I've been really busy getting ready to move to New York and stressing over random thoughts. I need inspiration to create something different but I've been cooped up in my house this whole summer which really bites, but I promise that once I start school, I will make blogging at least a weekly routine...hopefully

I really love to dabble in all aspects of art so I took a photo class a few semesters ago at my local community college. I never knew the difficulty photography involves and I think I've learned to appreciate a lot more. It was a great experience for me and I think I understand a bit more about the parallels between drawing and photography. My heart still lies with illustration but I hope to keep this up as a side hobby. Here's some of my photo assignments

So... haven't posted in a while :T Nothing really worthy so I scanned some studies I did for my art classes at College of the Canyons.
The trio on top was a study of a small action figure of a wrestler a friend once gave me.
The bottom two are figure studies. It was my first time painting nude models but I actually liked drawing them. I made the guy look a bit feminine though but to be fair he looked androgynous ;)

Here's a few pieces from my SVA portfolio. I wish I can do it all over again. I think I could have done so much better!
I feel so blessed to be able to go to such an amazing school where artists such as James Jean, Zachary Baldus, etc., etc., etc. have attended, and not to mention amazing instructors such as Yuko Shimizu, Sam Weber, so on... can't wait for August
